Arie de Jong, director of Stibat Services, looks back and forward in this video.
“In 2020, almost 4,000 tons of batteries and accumulators were collected. That’s more than the year before. Last year, more batteries and accumulators were put on the market and some were handed in after they were scrapped. In 2020, the European Batteries Directive, which requires that at least 45% of batteries that were put on the market in the last three years, will be collected again.”
Introduction Stibat Services
Producers (manufacturers and importers) are legally required to collect and recycle the batteries and accumulators they put on the market. In order to fulfil that requirement, producers of portable and industrial batteries have been working with Stichting Batterijen for 25 years.
